Yes, Kodak made millions of Brownie cameras. But the Brownie darkroom safelights were far more rare. Lots of folks were taking pics in those days, but only a dedicated group of enthusiasts (like me) were developing them.
If the concept of a darkroom is somehow alien to your Photoshop planet, this item is for you. Back in the day, it was all the lighting allowable to safely work by when processing photographic film and prints. Yes, a darkroom was really

. Totally, almost. The 10 watt bulb (included) of this item provided just barely enough light (once your eyes adjusted to it) to witness the magic of silver halide photography as it happened.
Today, it would make an excellent conversation piece…and even a more excellent night light! Hey, it isn’t really dark until this light goes out.
